If you love playing outside in the winter, you probably want your children to love it as well. The best way to get kids outside on a cold day is to keep things fun and active (which also keeps everybody warm!). Here are a few fun ideas you can try:
1. Downhill skiing or snowboarding
Many ski resorts offer schooling for kids as young as 3, and the kids will enjoy learning along with others who are at the same level. While they are learning, you can also hit the slopes!
2. Ice skating
Whether a local pond, or a community rink, this is a great family activity.
3. Snowshoeing
This is fairly easy to master, and is a great activity for families with toddlers since they can ride along in a carrier.
4. Winter camping.
Your camping season doesn't have to end with the end of warm weather. With warm sleeping bags, lots of layers and a 4 season tent, you and your family can explore a winter wonderland -- even in your back yard!
5. Sledding and tubing
All you need for this activity is a good slope and either a plastic saucer, or an inner tube.
6. Snowball fights.
Head to a local park, or even right in your back yard, for an epic battle.
What fun things would you do with your children in the winter?
