Holiday Shopping Tips

The holiday shopping season can be a very stressful time, between making sure your holiday doesn't become a financial burden, to making sure you have the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Here are some holiday shopping tips to get you through with a little less stress this season.

1. Do research.

Online shopping and phone apps allow you to price check quickly so that you are able to determine if you are getting a good price on an item. Keep in mind, most stores nowadays have price-match policies. Also, combine big shopping days such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday, with loyalty rewards or cash back offers so that you can get the best deals on all your holiday shopping!

2. Focus on what's important.

Don't forget that the holidays are about spending time with your family, having fun and being thankful. If your budget is tight, then skip the expensive, store-bought gifts. Instead, give something handmade. This will show you put time and effort to make something special and unique.

3. Have a budget.

Your holiday budget should include a list of everyone, or every occasion for which you need a gift. Your partner, in-laws, etc. And don't forget to make a list of cards and wrapping supplies, because these are expenses that should be accounted for as well. Determine how much you are willing to spend on each person.

4. Pay with cash.

Not only should you stick to your budget, but it is better if you pay with cash when possible, and leave the checkbook and credit cards at home so you can avoid temptations.
