As a single mother (speaking from experience, as I am now happily married), finances can be tight leading up to Christmas. You probably want to buy gifts for your children, food, etc. Here are 5 ways you can earn and save some extra money before Christmas arrives:
1. Sell stuff online.
If you are like me, you will have a ton of things that you will no longer use, stored away, such as old baby or kids items, appliances you no longer use, sports equipment etc. which can all be sold on ebay, swap/sell/buy facebook groups, or apps like letgo or varagesale. Or, if you have a hand in creative things, you could sell handmade items on Etsy.
2. Babysitting.
Take on some babysitting jobs. Nobody is more experienced than a mother. If your children are with their father for a few days, that is the perfect time to do some babysitting for extra cash.
3. Mystery Shop.
This is a great way to make extra money. You can take your kids with you and even buy some things you need anyways.
4. Pet Sit.
The kids would even love this if you pet sat a dog or cat. This is the time of year people leave on holidays and vacations, so it's the perfect opportunity.
5. Freelance Work.
Sites such as Fiverr, Indeed, and Freelancer allow people to post tasks they want to outsource. You can do almost anything, from data entry, to writing out cards for people, etc. and earn extra cash.
